PADI DIVEMASTER

The PADI Divemaster course is the first level in the PADI pro section where you cross from the recreational scuba diving certifications to the PADI Pro certifications. Some commercial diving jobs may require this rating as a minimum entry level certification. The PADI Divemaster course is an intense program which covers areas of leadership, dive guiding, assisting open water courses and more. The PADI Divemaster rating allows you to start your career in the dive industry. As a PADI Divemaster you will become a member of PADI and will have access to the pro member sections of the PADI website, all the benefits of becoming a PADI member and give you access to professional diver insurance. The PADI Divemaster rating is the prerequisite to the PADI Openwater Scuba Diver Instructor rating.

Creating a schedule for the PADI Divemaster course is dependant on your experience and requires some flexibility from your part with scheduling. In order to enrol you need to be / have:

  • 18 years old

  • Logged 40 scuba dives

  • Be a PADI rescue diver or equivalent

  • Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months

  • Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months

As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer it is clear that you as a PADI pro dive instructor take your continuing education seriously and are committed to teaching a variety of courses. As a PADI MSDT you have experience in 5 distinct specialty areas of recreational scuba diving. Being a PADI MSDT means that you have the experience and certifications to offer all the training a diver needs to become a Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate recreational diver rating.

The PADI master scuba diver trainer specialties includes:

  • Deep Diver

  • Navigation Diver

  • Nitrox Diver

  • Boat Diver

  • Underwater Naturalist Diver

  • Underwater photographer

PADI IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor rating makes you a valuable member of the Instructor Development Program and will allow you to assist teaching IDC’s. You can conduct parts of the IDC independently and teach the instructor candidates under the supervision of a Course Director. Once you complete your new rating you will be able to teach the Assistant Instructors independently! This is your first step into training PADI pro programs and requires a very good understanding of dive theory, PADI Standards and teaching diving in general. In order to register for a PADI IDC Staff Instructor course, you will need to already be a PADI MSDT and an EFR Instructor.
